Peter Torn is a corporate and commercial lawyer with over 15 years’ experience advising companies in Canada, Europe, Asia, and the US.

Noted as being extremely organized and responsive with his clients, Peter has 15 years experience as a general counsel and  a legal executive working with several technology companies (both public and private) to achieve rapid growth and profitability. Peter has extensive experience in corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, cross-border transactions, government communication, class action and litigation management, government and media communications, public and private financings, and securities regulatory issues. As GC,  he has completed hundreds of financings and M&As transactions, (from angel to Series E and public listings on the TSX, NYSE and Nasdaq).  He typically has reported to the CEOs and CFOs, and at times the board directly , for corporate governance, ESG, audit committee,  compensation committee, and corporate governance and nominated committee matters;  and other corporate secretary tasks as required.

Peter has represented Accenture, Sony, IBM, Vecima Networks Inc. and Vendasta Technologies Inc, on all matters of technology transactions including SaaS development, AI implementation into CRM solutions,  software development and IT outsourcings,  (nearshore and offshore),  IP management (and association litigation) voice and data infrastructure, enterprise software licenses, public and private infrastructure-as-a-service, and other cloud services.

Additionally, Peter was one of the founding directors of BC’s Digital Supercluster and this brought him success in creating private/public partnerships, with both the provincial and federal governments.

Before his legal career, Peter was a technology management consultant working at IBM and Accenture in Canada and US.  He knows technology.
