Corrie Stepan

Of Counsel

Corrie Stepan is a commercial lawyer with extensive experience advising businesses on legal matters in various industries, including outdoor commercial recreation and adventure tourism, hospitality, and banking & financial services.

Former firms & in-house roles:

Whistler Blackcomb; McCarthy Tetrault LLP; Clifford Chance; Davis & Company

With a background that includes experience as in-house counsel, in government, and in private practice working in traditional law firms, Corrie brings her vast and practical legal expertise now to Caravel Law. She has provided counsel to clients across the business spectrum on elements such as: commercial contracts, compliance & regulatory matters, marketing & advertising, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, business practices and consumer protection, privacy, and commercial leasing.

Having worked in both the financial sector as well as with the Department of Finance, Corrie brings a unique perspective on regulatory issues, particularly as they relate to federally and provincially regulated financial institutions, such as the foreign entry, investment and consumer protection regimes of financial institution statutes.  She is skilled at navigating clients through mazes of legislation and regulations to find commercial results.  Her work with both small businesses and large entities gives her a well-rounded and pragmatic approach to client service.

While working with Whistler Blackcomb as in-house counsel, she was able to combine a passion for the law with her personal love of the outdoors, and now finds herself situated firmly as a resident of Western Canada. A graduate of both McGill University as well as University of Cambridge, where she completed her Masters of Law, Corrie is committed to ongoing professional growth, in an effort to continually deliver the best for her legal clients.
