TORONTO, October 19, 2020 /– Caravel Law Professional Corporation, the innovative providers of legal services in Canada, has solidified its positioning as a technology-first industry leader by acquiring MyLegalBriefcase. Additionally, Monica Goyal, creator of the MyLegalBriefcase legal software, will be stepping into the newly created role of Director of Legal Innovation.

Caravel is built on the concept that technology can help create a more efficient legal services experience for its clients. By leveraging a unique model that eliminates much of the costly overhead of traditional service providers, Caravel connects clients to senior level, business-minded counsel, available within a cost-effective pricing structure.

Ms. Goyal, with a background in both law and engineering, created MyLegalBriefcase as a software solution for smaller clients who needed effective and affordable legal services. Through her deep understanding of how to frame technology as an asset, she has developed a reputation as a leader in legal innovation and is recognized worldwide for her contributions in this space. She was named as one of 10 Women to Watch in Legal Tech by the ABA Journal, is a past winner of Fastcase 50, and is an instructor at the Institute for the Future of Law Practice (IFLP).

With the momentum for adoption, driven by the new realities of working from home, the timing was right for this new role at the firm. Said Goyal, “I’ve known Joe (Milstone) and Rubsun (Ho) for years, and Caravel has always impressed me with its fresh approach to delivering services that add value. There is a lot of burgeoning innovation in the legal space, and I look forward to furthering the Caravel technology position.”

“Our goal is to continue to look at client-focused technology solutions and combine them with our relentless drive for client satisfaction,” Says Caravel CEO, Stuart Wood. “Technology should enhance the work that our lawyers deliver, and with Monica’s expertise in this arena, we plan to continue evolving so that we always over-deliver to our clients. We are beyond excited to add someone of her calibre to our organization.”

Caravel not only believes in the importance of innovation and technology, but also in the significance of client service, exemplified by being the first law firm in Canada to have a Director of Client Happiness and the first firm to introduce Net Promoter Surveys (NPS). Caravel’s novel approach has meant that it has consistently received the highest NPS results in the industry.
