A Message From Our Managing Partner

For more than 20 years, Caravel has been reshaping what modern legal services look like in Canada. I’ve been part of this evolution for over a decade, and I remain deeply proud of the growth, innovation, and purpose that continue to define our work. 

What started in 2005 as a small team challenging the traditional law firm model has now grown into a national, full-service firm rooted in accessibility, innovation, and genuine partnership. Over the past two decades, we’ve helped transform the expectations businesses have of their legal advisors and we’re just getting started. 

My own path began on Bay Street and later shifted in-house at one of Canada’s leading media organizations. Those experiences taught me the value of practical, business-minded legal advice. But my entrepreneurial drive pulled me toward building and growing companies, work that aligned perfectly with Caravel’s mission when I discovered the firm. Caravel felt different: entrepreneurial at its core, unafraid to innovate, and committed to delivering legal services in a way that truly met clients where they were. I knew immediately that this was the right place for me.

From the beginning, Caravel stood for a simple idea: great legal support should be flexible, modern, and deeply aligned with the business it serves. That philosophy has fueled our evolution, from our early adoption of legal technology, to our long-standing commitment to remote work and workplace flexibility, to our investment in a dedicated Client Happiness team long before it became industry standard. 

Today, our greatest strength continues to be our people. Our lawyers bring a rare combination of private practice rigor and in-house practicality. Our operations team supports them with efficiency, care, and an unwavering focus on delivering exceptional client experiences. Together, we’ve built a model that consistently attracts forward-thinking clients and top-tier talent from across the country. 

Crossing the 20-year mark is a meaningful milestone but it’s also a reminder that the work ahead is even more exciting. The legal landscape is changing quickly, and Caravel is committed to continuing to lead that change: embracing new technologies, expanding our service models, and building solutions that reflect how modern businesses operate.
