Sean is a practical leader with extensive legal and business experience. His practice serves clients across software companies, healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical and biotech firms, and health-tech ventures at the intersection of these sectors. His in-house experience includes serving as Commercial Counsel for Canada’s largest publicly listed (NASDAQ) biotechnology company, where he coordinated complex transactions and drafted documentation for international manufacturing partnerships, technology licensing, and asset acquisitions. His clients have also included some of Canada’s largest pharmaceutical and med-tech companies.

Sean thrives in high-pressure environments, supporting notable projects such as raising over US$1B across multiple financing rounds (including a US$345M round), acting as legal lead for phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials, leading negotiations for late-stage clinical and commercial manufacturing agreements, and advising on mergers and acquisitions including the recent sale of an Alberta-based green energy company for US$50M.

Beyond private practice, Sean serves as an advisor to SPARK Alberta, a digital health innovation program that transforms academic research insights into market-ready solutions. He also contributes to his community as a board director for the Marda Loop Communities Association, one of Calgary’s most densely populated neighborhoods, and serves as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
