Neil’s recent experience includes acting as a General Counsel of a publicly traded cannabis company, with an e-commerce focus, navigating it through a complex matter and settlement of a securities class action. Neil was also a Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer of a merchant bank that attempted a highly innovative cross-border trading platform, incorporating block-chain technology. Neil has also supported several startups, technology companies and high-growth ventures in private practice and in permanent and legal advisory roles.

Previously, Neil acted as an Associate Vice President and Senior Counsel & Director for two of Canada’s largest banks, overseeing in these roles key regulatory and legal aspects of their capital adequacy and international private banking, credit, trusts, brokerage, investment management and custody businesses.

Neil is qualified as a Chartered Accountant and CFA, and has wide experience in Banking and Securities Regulation, Finance, Derivatives, Mergers & Acquisitions, and innovative transactions involving equity and debt capital markets, structured finance and private equity.
