John is an experienced senior lawyer, executive and trusted advisor with substantial experience, primarily in the resource sector, as a lawyer, General Counsel, board member and business executive.  He has in-depth knowledge both as a lawyer and as an executive advising and executing on business strategy, and has expertise ranging from the board room to line functions, providing both corporate and operational support. He has considerable experience applying best practices in commercial law, compliance, transactional M&A, ESG, stakeholder engagement, risk management, environmental regulation, governance, privacy and employment law.  He also has vast experience with dispute resolution management, crisis management, and law department management.

A proven leader, John is known for his common-sense pragmatic approach to problem-solving and for being a great listener who wants to understand a client’s needs, their business strategy and how they operate before providing strategic legal and business advice as a clear and concise communicator.
